Sausage and Apple Appetizers

First time I made these it was for a Thanksgiving dinner, it was an instant hit that was repeated at several Christmas parties and even made a reappearance on New Year's Eve!

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion, chopped
½ cup apple jelly
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 pounds cocktail-size smoked sausages
3 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons warm water
Directions:
In large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté stirring constantly, until onion is golden. Stir in apple jelly and brown sugar. Add sausages and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken. Add apples, partially cover pan, and cook 10 minutes or until apples are tender. Combine cornstarch and water and stir into mixture in pan. Cook 2 to 3 minutes more or until mixture thickens. Serve warm.
