Passport to Scotland

As part of our 4H Club's Passport to the World project, several club members visited the Midlothian, Scottish Fair. One couldn't help but feel a "we bit ta'en" with the festive atmosphere! They were able to observe traditional Scottish musicians, including the bagpipes. Some of our members were able to try their hand at playing the instruments.

We met several Scottish-Americans that had much to tell about their Scottish heritage. We saw many examples of traditional Scottish dress. We also watched sheep herding, Scottish dancing, listened to traditional Scottish story telling, and even participated in a few "Highland Games." Here we watched a band play music on traditional Scottish instruments. It was a great day, and the lads and lassies are ready for a great project year.
