Into Anne's Garden

"Just think what a lovely place to live, in an apple blossom! Fancy going to sleep in it when the wind was rocking it. If I wasn't a human girl I think I'd like to be a bee and live among the flowers." Anne of Green Gables
Hannah decided that she wanted to have a garden, just like Anne from Anne of Green Gables. So Fred gave her a part of the yard where he had just removed an old shed. He then helped her get started by turning the earth with a rototiller and adding some compost.

We went shopping at a local farmers market to get the best deals and found several beautiful perennials. Some of the one she included had special meanings during the Victorian era.

Lilac - First Love, Apple Blossom - Preference
Phlox - Our Hearts are United
Tiger Lilly - Gaiety, Marigold - Affection
Poppy - Consolation, Chrysanthemum - Slighted Love

At the end of the summer her garden was green and lush. It was a really pleasant place to sit and read a book. She has many ideas for next years garden, so stop by and take a stroll! You might just loose yourself in your imagination, just like Anne!
