A Home School Christmas!

Christmas time is very special to us as home schoolers. It is a time when our faith in Jesus Christ has a chance to exhibit itself in beautiful ways. We are able to attend special programs, services, and activities that all center around our Savior!

We studied Sweden one year and since then the girls have carried on the tradition of St. Lucia. She was martyred for her service to the Christians in Rome. Her story tells of how she would bring food to them underground as they hid from the oppressive government. When she came in the dark of night she wore a wreath of candles on her head so her hands were free to carry the provisions.

This year the highlight of their gifts was enrollment into the Tracy's Kempo Karate school, right here in Midlothian. Sarah had been asking for lessons for many years, and Hannah expressed an interest also.
As you can see, they are ready to begin!

We drove over to Mrs. Mcllwaine's house that night to deliver her gift. She expressed great excitement for them as they posed for another picture. This dear lady has shared so much with us, we are blessed to have her as a friend!

No Christmas holiday would be complete without a full day of baking cookies. The girls like to have friends over to share in the duty. Of course, a lot of frosting, sprinkles, and raw dough is often consumed in the process, but that's OK, once a year!

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
God bless us every one!
